Gumbo (n): an un-organized collection or mixture of various things.

Welcome to Gumbo Press...

...home of the best new writing in every form.

e-reader and books - Image: Maggie Smith / FreeDigitalPhotos.net Our bi-monthly e-zine, Word Gumbo, features fiction, poetry, script, non-fiction, mixed-form, and multi-media, plus interviews, special features and links to competitions. Every year we will produce an anthology featuring new work from the best writers from the magazine.

Issue Six - "Endings" - is now (finally) available to download from the Word Gumbo page.

There will also be chapbooks from selected writers, and plenty of ways for writers and readers to be involved in an exciting literary community.

Our team consists of four experienced writer/editors:
Calum Kerr - former Managing Editor of CK Publishing and Writer's Muse, author of 31, flash365 and many short-stories,
Jo Bell - hard-working poet involved in projects all over the country, and Director of National Poetry Day,
Kath Lloyd - a graduate of Winchester University's MA in Creative Writing, currently finishing off her first novel, and
Mike Somers - editor of Writer's Muse for almost ten years, writer, and film aficionado.
